About the course
ABA Category J4, J5
Industrial Telescopic Material Handler courses will provide candidates with the skills to operate the truck safely and effectively, carry out pre-use inspections, and recall and explain the causes of truck and load instability.

Choosing the right course:
- Industrial variable reach lift truck – up to 9m lift (ABA Category J4)
- Industrial high lift telescopic truck – above 9m lift (ABA category J5)
Course duration:
Refresher Training | Half - 1 Day Course
For candidates who already possess a valid qualification, which is due to expire.
Conversion Training | 1-2 Days Course
For qualified operators confronted with the small change in equipment or conversion to a completely different machine type.
Experienced Training | 2-3 Days Course
For candidates with extensive experience operating equipment but do not currently hold a valid qualification.
Novice Training | 3-5 Days Course
For candidates without any prior experience operating equipment.

- Introduction to the lift truck
- Controls & instruments
- Starting, moving and stopping the truck
- Steering
- Operation of hydraulic controls
- Pre-use inspection & takeover maintenance
- Weight assessment
- Handling pallets/containers/bulk packs/loads associated with the truck's industry
- Driving on/off ramps and inclines
- Driving and operating over uneven terrain
- Road vehicle loading & unloading
- Stacking/de-stacking - industrial racking, shelving, to and from platforms.
