The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Training Course is a seven-hour module. Alternatively, it can be completed in two 3.5-hour modules. This course is designed to ensure that lorry, bus, and coach drivers as well as taxi drivers are up to date with current legislation, safety guidelines, and best practices in order to maintain a high level of road safety.

We offer face-to-face training at our Lisnaskea Training Centre and on customer premises. Those who would prefer to complete the CPC course in their own home environment may also access our Online Learning Platform to complete the course.

How much Driver CPC training do you need to do?

The legal requirement for Driver CPC in the UK to drive a lorry, bus, or coach, is to complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years in order to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

Drivers who fail to keep their CPC driver training hours up to date can be fined up to £1,000.

The same course can only be taken more than once within a 5-year period if there is a compelling reason for doing so, such as first aid training, driver training, etc. It is possible for the DVSA to cancel the hours you obtained from the course if you do not have sufficient reasons.
